Social media quit counter for iPhone
Count every hour you stay off social media.
The Social media template counts your clean time from the moment you start, in days, hours and minutes, right on the Today screen. When the urge to open an app comes, a three-minute breathing timer helps it pass. If you do give in, one tap logs it and the clock starts again.

How it works in Habiter
- 1
Start the counter
Pick Social media, or Doomscrolling, from "Quit a habit". The clock starts at that moment; if you stopped a few days ago, set an earlier start.
- 2
Nothing to tick
A day without a slip counts as clean without a tap. The counter sits in its own "Staying away" section on Today and updates every minute.
- 3
When the urge comes
Tap "I'm having a craving" for a three-minute ring with 4-7-8 breathing. Then note whether it passed, how strong it was and what set it off, such as boredom or being on your phone.
- 4
If you give in
Tap "I gave in". The clean-time clock restarts, but your total clean days are kept. Milestones at 3, 7, 14, 30, 100 and 365 days clean go by your longest run.
Making it stick
- Note what sets it off
After a few cravings, the "Your cravings" card shows what most often comes first and, once there are enough, the hour they tend to come.
- Give it three minutes
The craving timer gives you three minutes of breathing before you decide, instead of acting on the first impulse.
- Log a slip, then carry on
Logging a slip honestly keeps the record true. Your total clean days stay, and the next run starts straight away.

Questions people ask
Is the social media quit counter free?
Yes. The counter, the craving timer and the cravings log are all free, with no ads. The free plan keeps up to 5 habits.
Does it block apps or read my Screen Time?
No. Habiter doesn't block apps or read Screen Time; you log a slip yourself with one tap. The counter stays honest without any access to how you use your phone.
What's the difference between Social media and Doomscrolling?
Only the name and icon; both work the same way. Pick the one that describes what you want to stop, or keep both.
